Shaking the Invincible - "PEST"

I recently decided to stop wasting time and post three new tracks to Soundcloud. These songs were recorded with the original lineup and were awaiting the completion of four others. The result would have been the second STI album. But these days it's not all about the "album" Songs need to stand on their own. And these most certainly do. 

I'm not quite sure what will happen next. Part of me needed to let go of the idea that these tracks needed to wait for something bigger. They're already big. I just needed to clear my lenses and see that. 

These tracks are not currently available for purchase although someday I hope them to be alongside the others on iTunes. I have run out of "sets" on Soundcloud and refuse to pay for an upgrade to my account. I like the price of "free". So I will be rethinking some things in the near future for any other material.

I am proudly announcing "The Singles".  This is a series of acoustic tracks that, before the introduction of web 2.0, would not have seen the light of day past my small circle of friends. They were not recorded with the idea that they would sit together in a collection, but signify my roots in songwriting, and seem to fit well together.

My first real guitar was a Washburn D10N, which has not left me.  It's still emblazoned with the gargoyle sticker I bought in a skate shop years ago.  I put calluses on my fingers with this one just fighting my way to create a voice for myself with melody.  I still love the heavy stuff, but have always seen the necessity for balance in my life.  So here's a little taste of the vulnerable side:

I just released 4 acoustic tracks to Soundcloud. The image above is from the first song. Each track has it's own separate cover that follows a value scale and they each get slightly darker.

These songs were written before the first full length album was even a thought. They were re-mastered and three of them were played in my wedding on June 13 of 2009 with Jen from @HellRazor.

the music

losing iWeb was a blessing in disguise. i'm growing pretty comfortable with the new site and have made some moves that i've been putting off for too long. sometimes i'm my own worst enemy.

the first STI album is again available for purchase through CDbaby or by clicking the music tab up above. i've alluded to this album in a prior post as it was originally recorded under a different band name.

as i write this, my six month old is trying to typ3 al0ng w1th me. this is what he does when he's not trying to crawl. i play music through the PA downstairs and he sits and smacks the work desk. i like to include him in my musical life even though he won't understand it all for a while. we live in an incredible time where he'll have access to so many amazing creative opportunities that i want him to have choices like my parents gave me.
